PARIS, Aug 9 (ACN) The bronze medal of Olympic and world champion Luis A. Orta, in the 67 kilograms weight category is a distinctive aspect of the thirteenth day of competition at the 33rd Olympic Games, held in Paris.
Orta, who was considered among the specialists as a candidate for the gold medal in the current summer event, first defeated the Algerian Ishak Ghaiou in the repechage rounds, by 9-0 superiority, and the Armenian Slavik Galstyan (7-0) in the fight for bronze.
In this sense, Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, congratulated the outstanding Greco-Roman wrestler.
Orta defended with strength and shame to be on the Olympic podium in Paris 2024, said the president on X and added that surely as a true gladiator he will demonstrate in upcoming challenges why he was the best Greco-Roman athlete in 2023.
