Executives of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) held a special consultation session to review Cuban Sports Bill together with sports journalists, who suggested additions and changes to, as well as deletions from, the draft document designed to govern sports in the island and prepared after months-long hard work with the participation of State bodies and mass and social organizations.

Cuba closed its participation in the 2025 World Handball Championship with a 33-31 loss, after penalties, against Guinea and finished last in the competition, hosted for the first time by three countries: Denmark, Norway and Croatia.

With the need to win to advance to the next stage of the Men's Handball World Championship, the Cuban national team will face its counterpart from Cape Verde Monday, in the last day of Group G, which is being held in Zagreb, Croatia.
