HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 28 (ACN) The Leñadores de Las Tunas, representing Cuba, were knocked out 12-1 on Monday by the Colombian Caimanes de Barranquilla on the field of the Soberania National Stadium, in the fourth day of the Americas Baseball Series.
After being defeated the previous day by the undefeated Cabras of Curacao, the Cuban team could not overcome its problems and suffered its third defeat in four outings, against a team that had not opened its winning streak.
Oddy Nuñez was the winner after walking the entire route, accepting four hits and striking out three.
On that date, the Goats of Curaçao, already with the ticket in their pocket, knocked out 12-2 the Daom Club of Argentina.
The latter will be Cuba's rivals on Tuesday, in an important challenge to define the other tickets to the next stage.
