The Cuban health ministry reported today 76 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, coronavirus that causes COVID-19, for a total of 8,982 in the country.

The Pedro Kourí Institute of Tropical Medicine (IPK), in Havana, will host this Thursday the main event for the Latin American Medicine Day, which is celebrated every December 3, in remembrance of the birth of Carlos J. Finlay, eminent Cuban scientist and physician.

The Cuban health ministry reported today 97 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, coronavirus that causes COVID-19, for a total of 8,381 in the country.

Cuba´s National Public Health System closes the year with a decrease in the cases diagnosed with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), as well as the mortality associated with this epidemic, which reflects a control over the transmission of HIV /AIDS.

The Cuban health ministry reported today 51 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, coronavirus that causes COVID-19, for a total of 8,284 in the country.

Cuba studied 10, 921 samples for COVID-19, resulting in 35 positive ones. The country accumulates 1,083,028 samples carried out and 8,110 positive (0.75%).
At the close of November 26, there are 3,613 patients in hospital for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 872 suspects, 2,291 in surveillance and 450 confirmed.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) awarded the Carlos J. Finlay Prize, sponsored by Cuba, to Professor Kenya Honda, of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology of Keio University's School of Medicine (Tokyo).
