The 39th Winter Film Festival, dedicated to women in cinema and to the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the film Girón, opened its doors in this city with the screening of Cuban filmmaker Gloria Rolando’s documentary Diálogo con mi abuela [Talking with my grandmother].

Major lines of business, import and export and production linkage development to diversify the business portfolio of Cuban and foreign creators rank high on the agenda of the International Crafts Fair Iberoarte 2022, which gathers creators, entrepreneurs and suppliers from several countries in this city of eastern Cuba.

 Filmmaker Santiago Rony Feliú presented Lo primero que hay que salvar (The First Thing to Save), a 52-minute-long documentary film about the presence of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro in the Revolution’s cultural activity and his role in milestones such as the literacy campaign and the founding of Casa de las Américas and the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists.

Creators, researchers, critics, teachers, students, managers, programmers and communicators engaged in performing arts and other art fields will gather in Havana from November 14 to December 16 to develop the International Laboratory Traspasos Escénicos 2022.

Given the good reception of the shows by the public, critics and programmers, the Grupo de Experimentacion Escenica La Caja Negra, from Santiago de Cuba(eastern Cuba), is successfully continuing its second tour of Mexico.

The Iberoarte 2022 International Crafts Fair, sponsored by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods (FCBC), began this Thursday in the Cuban eastern city of Holguin with an artistic gala that highlighted the cultural traditions of Peru, the nation to which the event is dedicated.

The 4th edition of the Habana Clásica Festival, to be held Nov. 5-20 in Havana's main concert halls, will pay tribute to Cuban violinist and composer Claudio Jose Domingo Brindis de Salas y Garrido (1852-1911) on the 170th anniversary of his birth.

A photo and documentary exhibition opened at Havana’s Jose Marti National Library on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Turkey.

Havana is hosting the Belgian Culture Season with concerts, movies, tours of Belgium-related sites and other initiatives up to November 15.

Ibero-America’s typical multicultural colorfulness returned to the streets of this city in eastern Cuba in the traditional parade that highlights roots and traditions and brings countries together.
