SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Nov 20 (ACN) Ediciones UO, of the Universidad de Oriente (UO), has become the first of its kind in Cuba to publish on the digital platform ULibros of the Association of University Publishers of Latin America and the Caribbean (EULAC).
The first uploads included the historical texts Universidad de Oriente: la pasión de crear, by several authors, and Las ideas y la fuerza, by Nils Castro, founder of the School of Letters at the university, according to Ediciones UO director Carlos Manuel Rodríguez.
Cuba’s membership will facilitate staff training in topics related to editorial production and increase their knowledge about regional literary interests.
EULAC brings together university publishing networks from regional countries, Portugal and Spain. Its purpose is to disseminate academic production and promote new knowledge through courses, lectures, workshops and consultancies.
