Intended to promote pediatric care throughout the month by means of scientific, educational and community events, the campaign Un abril por la pediatría (April for pediatrics) kicked off at a children’s hospital in the city of Guantánamo.

The Abel Santamaria Cuadrado provincial hospital, the largest in the westernmost province of Pinar del Rio, has been benefiting for the past three years from the project to promote hospital digitalization in diagnostic imaging, which has an impact on the quality of medical care.

In the context of the Convention Cuba Salud 2025, scheduled to be held on April 21 to 25, Havana will host the National Congress “Una Sola Salud” (One Health), intended to review the progress achieved by and strengthen the health-animal care-ecosystem links.

The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) initiated today in this city their 10th High-Level Talks.

More than 3,000 delegates from 50 countries will attend the international conference CUBA SALUD 2025 and its two associated fairs, scheduled to be held on April 21-25 in Havana to discuss models of comprehensive health strategies and wellness, according to Ileana Morales Suarez, director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Public Health.

For 25 years of uninterrupted work, the Center for Research and Rehabilitation of Hereditary Ataxias (Cirah by its Spanish acronym), located in the estern province of Holguin and the only one of its kind in Cuba, has been working to improve the quality of life of patients diagnosed with this pathology.

Cuban technological projects in the making will bring primary health care services closer to patients and make specialized medical care more efficient, according to Mayra Arevich Marín, Cuba’s Minister of Communications, who is participating in the Global Youth Summit 2025 of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), under way in Matanzas province’s Varadero seaside resort.

An annual average of 450 children and adolescents face cancer disease in Cuba, a global health problem and a priority for the health system and the State, with a comprehensive program for its control and a national health care strategy.

Samira Addrey, member of the board of the U.S. organization IFCO-Pastors for Peace, stressed that Cuba's collaboration with the world in the field of health care is a feat and a bastion of hope for many people which should be highlighted in these times marked by the aggressiveness against the island.
