Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero met on Wednesday with his counterpart from Grenada Dickson Mitchell to address Cuba’s intention to keep the historic cooperation links that unites the two Caribbean nations under the principle of solidarity.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez thanked today his Mexican counterpart Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the timely, effective and necessary assistance provided to the Island during the fire at the Matanzas Supertanker Base and stated Cuba's respect, admiration and affection for the true example of solidarity set by the Mexican people and government.

“Despite the pain for the lives lost, there were days of great altruism during the fire at the supertanker base, and the University of Matanzas was one of those places where the principles of the Cuban people were ratified,” said Yasnier Hinojosa, professor of this institution and head of its Institutional Communication Department.

Workers at the Encanto Velasco Hotel, in the city of Matanzas, were tasked with the care of relatives of those missing in the fire that broke out on August 5 at the local Supertanker Base.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez thanked his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro for the help offered to fight the fire that recently broke out in the Supertanker Base of the province of Matanzas.

The prime ministers of Barbados, Mia Mottley, and Cuba, Manuel Marrero, ratified their willingness to keep deepening bilateral cooperation between their countries.

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Roosevelt Skerrit, Premier of the Commonwealth of Dominica met on Tuesday and ratified their willingness to advance bilateral cooperation projects.

Cuban authorities expressed their gratefulness to the Dominican Republic for a series of humanitarian donations aimed at supporting the medical assistance of the people injured by the recent fire that affected a supertankers oil depot in the western province of Matanzas.

The Cuban Red Cross Society thanked its Chinese counterpart for a 150-thousand dollar donation to help face the consequences of a massive fire that affected a supertankers oil depot in the western province of Matanzas earlier this month.

A part of the area affected by the fire in the industrial zone is now in a clear recovery, said Susely Morfa Gonzalez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province of Matanzas, during a working meeting.

The gratitude of the Cuban people and authorities was expressed today in the ceremony of recognition and farewell to the crews of the Mexican ships Bourbon Artabaze and Pemex Ehecatl, for their decisive role in extinguishing the fire at the supertanker base.

In messages to his counterparts in Mexico and Venezuela, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez stated his gratitude for their support in the fight against the fire that broke out at the supertanker base in this city.

Cuban Health Minister Jose Angel Portal Miranda announced on Friday that the first mortal remains of persons reported as missing after a massive fire broke out in an oil depot in Matanzas city were found and belong to four individuals.
