Cuba highlights international call for an end to the US blockade

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 5 (ACN) Another year of international caravans to demand the end of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade, which have multiplied the bridges of love and solidarity with the Cuban people, stressed today Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister.

On Twitter, the Cuban diplomat acknowledged what happened on Sunday, when citizens from Argentina, Bahamas, Canada, the U.S., Uruguay and other countries took to the streets to demand the end of that unilateral policy that affects the population of the island.

According to Carlos Lazo, coordinator of Puentes de Amor (Bridges of Love), the main scenario of Sunday's caravan was the city of Miami, Florida, although other cities in the country and the world also made similar demands.

He insisted on the importance of the White House removing Cuba from the list of alleged countries sponsoring terrorism -according to Washington's standards-, something that reinforces the impact of the blockade and hinders financial operations, as well as insertion in international trade.

Solidarity caravans take place every month-end in different parts of the world, and among other demands they defend the family reunification program, the sending of remittances and the restoration of travel, affected by the more than 240 measures imposed by Trump.
