Special Municipality Isle of Youth with 87% of homes recovered after hurricane Ian

NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, Dec 2 (ACN) Of the 278 damages reported to the housing fund, in the Isle of Youth 87 % of those properties hit by Hurricane Ian, last September 26 as it passed through the west of the island territory, have already been fully recovered.

The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Zunilda Garcia Garces, first secretary of that political organization in the special municipality, told the Cuban News Agency that progress is being made at a good pace, especially in the repair of partial and total damage to the roof of the 269 houses reported, of which 90.3% have already been restored to normal.

According to a report from the Municipal Housing Directorate, only seven families have yet to receive the construction materials necessary to overcome the vulnerability in which they are living today.

The directive then specified that the seven projects of total collapse will be assumed by the company " Maintenance to Buildings of the People's Power" and that they should be supported by the work centers to which the people affected belong.
