The world launched a moral shock at the heart of the genocidal policy of the United States against Cuba, by demonstrating this weekend in an international day of repudiation of the blockade, which was felt in all continents through caravans of vehicles, walks, rallies and intense action in social networks.

Several heads of state attending the 27th Ibero-American Summit stressed in their speeches the need to consolidate multilateralism, regional integration and boost South -South cooperation to face the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Caribbean can always count on Cuba,” said Bruno Rodriguez, Cuban Foreign Minister as he referred to the medical assistance offered by the island to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines which was hard hit by the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano last April 9.

The general secretary of the DPRK Labor Party Kim Jong Un and the leader of China’s Communist Party Central Committee Xi Jinping sent messages of congratulation to Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel for his election as First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party.

The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) urged today the international community and the world pharmaceutical sector to join the efforts of governments and multilateral organizations forums, to democratize the production and access to anti-COVID-19 vaccines.

 The European solidarity campaign UnBlockCuba began this week a more active stage, with the realization of public actions in several cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in support of the Caribbean island and against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
