The project "Strengthening the capacity of the National Health System for the COVID-19 crisis" delivered today a donation of medical supplies to the Lidia and Clodomira polyclinic, in the Regla municipality of Havana.

The Cuban Academy of Sciences will remember and praise today the work of the most illustrious Cuban scientist: Carlos J. Finlay, with the traditional Oration held by the institution since 1933.

The willingness of the Cuban Government to strengthen medical collaboration with the Kingdom of Cambodia was ratified by meeting between José Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban Minister of Public Health, and Or Vandine, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Health.

The research "Vaccination against COVID-19 in Cuba: a successful experience of innovative strategy in health" received the Annual Health Grand Prize, the highest award granted by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) to the most relevant scientific results in the field.

Josee Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban health minister, highlighted the recognition of the medical collaborators from Cuba, by representatives of Latin American and Caribbean countries, during the extraordinary session of the Parliament that commemorated the 18th anniversary of ALBA-TCP.

Cuba, as it has demonstrated for more than six decades, will always continue prioritizing life, said Cuban minister of public health Jose Angel Portal Miranda today, following the approval by Parliament on Monday of the State Budget Law 2023.

The Public Health bill was presented to the Cuban Parliament during a joint session of the Health and Sports and the Constitutional and Legal Affairs commissions, prior to the 10th Ordinary Session of the 9th Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP).

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz called today to increase surveillance and demanded strict observance of Cuban health protocols to avoid fresh outbreaks of disease now that the end-of-year festivities are drawing near.

For Cuba, cooperation in health is essential, which, as we know, is not only with this sister nation, but also reaches the entire Caribbean region, said Jose Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban health minister, during his recent visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported that at the end of Saturday, December 3, a total of 73 patients were admitted in hospitals, 23 suspected and 50 confirmed active COVID-19 cases.
