Doctors from Cuba's eastern region to support public health in western provinces

BAYAMO, Cuba, Jan 23 (ACN) To support health services in the western province of Artemisa and the special municipality of Isle of Youth, a contingent of 27 recently graduated doctors from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the province of Granma was flagged off today in this city.

We have the privilege of studying and training as doctors in our country, free of charge, which is one of the many achievements of this small Caribbean island, said Grabiel Leonardo Jimenez Herrera, who received the national standard from Tania Maria Heredia de la Guardia, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the eastern territory.

The Desembarco del Granma contingent, which was voluntarily formed by doctors from different municipalities, was sent off by the main authorities of Public Health, along with cadres of the PCC, the Government and the Young Communist League in the province.

We have full confidence that they will work with dedication, discipline, quality and love, giving prestige to their homeland and to the symbolic name of the brigade, said Dr. Jorge Luis Trujillo Avila, secretary general of the Workers Association of the sector in the territory.
