In a post on X, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked the support received from several governments that recognize the unjust inclusion of Cuba in the U.S. list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism and its devastating effects on the population.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE, Spanish acronyms) announced on Thursday in Havana that it will provide technical assistance to the Cuban Central Bank (BBC) to strengthen the fight on crimes against humanity.

Havana is hosting the 4th International Food Fair, May 21-23, aimed at encouraging foreign investment, increasing local production capacities and establishing links between state and private companies in the sector.

Upon receiving Michelle Marie Muschett Zimmermann, UNDP general director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked the organization for its support to major national projects under way in key sectors such as food production and nutrition education, as well as for its assistance following floods and hurricanes in the island.

The Conference Financing for Development Havana 2024 is under way in this city, where Cuba will demonstrate how useful international aid of this kind is in areas such as energy transition, medicine production and environmental conservation.

On the days leading up to the celebration of Africa Day on May 25, Déborah Rivas Saavedra, Cuban deputy minister of Foreign Trade and Investment praised the bonds that unite that continent with Cuba, marked by milestones such as the arrival in Algeria in 1963 of the island’s first medical brigade and its support to the nationalist guerrilla for the liberation of Guinea Bissau from Portuguese colonialism, to Ethiopia against the Somali invasion, and to Angola and Namibia against apartheid and for independence.

“Change in communication is the norm, and those who do not adapt will disappear; given the accelerated pace of technology, what is very new today will be obsolete in 10 years,” Spanish journalist and professor Ignacio Ramonet said at a meeting with Cuban journalists and intellectuals.

The VI International Forum of Oratory “Pensamiento Martiano y Latinoamericano” opened its doors in this city with participants from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Russia and Cuba.
