The city of Trinidad has just been declared a World Craft City, after an extensive evaluation process by the World Crafts Council, which makes of this city located some 4 hours southeast of Havana, one of its kind in Cuba.

The fifth edition of the race for the Nelson Mandela International Day will take place in this city next July 14, as a worthy tribute to the life and historical legacy of the anti-apartheid leader.

The Fernando Ortiz International Award, the highest distinction granted by the Fernando Ortiz Foundation in the field of socio-cultural studies was given to Mexican ethnologist Carlos Bojorquez Urzaiz.

The documentary "Cuban Women in the Revolution", by Argentinean journalist Maria Torrellas and produced by Resumen Latinoamericano was presented for the first time in Cuba on Wednesday in Havana's 23rd and 12th Theater.
