HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (acn) The International Congress Cubamotricidad 2018, attended by delegates from 49 countries and defined as a celebration of life, sports and health, kicked off yesterday in Havana with a show that included music and dance.
The Sports City Coliseum hosted the Inaugural Gala of the event, which was attended by local sports glories like Yipsi Moreno, Javier Sotomayor, Driulis Gonzalez and Yumilka Ruiz.
The four former athletes highlighted in their speeches the importance of physical activity from an early age for the best psychomotor development of children, while referring to the need to apply science in order to improve the quality of life of people.
It also spoke PhD. Antonio Becali, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), who urged the congress to be a space for debate and exchange of knowledge, teaching and learning.
The topics to be discussed from in the halls of the Havana Convention Center include the Creativity in Physical Education and Child Psychomotricity.
The official working days start today with several keynote addresses, including Becali's inaugural, entitled "The Cuban sports system facing the 2030 agenda".
