As of Thursday, six outstanding students from various Cuban art schools will participate in the Third International Children's Cultural Forum at the Palace of Pioneers in Vorobyovy Gory, Moscow, which will gather more than 2,000 young people from several countries and 89 Russian regions.

Organized by Timbalaye, international promoter of Cuban culture, the 16th International Festival “Route of the Rumba” will be held nationwide on August 18 to 31 to salute the 25th anniversary of this entity under the theme “Movimientos que identifican” (Identifying motions) and with focus on two areas of interest: the National Councils and Houses of Saints (Ilé Ocha), and the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO Routes of the Enslaved Peoples, intended to break the silence surrounding the history of slavery.

The 18th edition of the International Film Festival of Gibara (FIC Gibara) was closed with the awarding of the Lucia de Honor prize, the highest award granted by the Gibara International Film Festival (FIC Gibara), to director and screenwriter Manuel Perez Paredes and cinematographer Livio Delgado, in that city in the Cuban northern province of Holguin.

An exhibition with 23 photographs of Fidel Castro, as seen by his son Alex, was opened to the public today at the museum of the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, in Havana, and reflects the last years of the Commander-in-Chief's life.
