The Cuban scientists, engineers and architects will exchange experiences on innovative initiatives towards sustainability during the 21st Engineering and Architecture Conference to take place November 25-29 in Havana.

Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country, ratified today the conviction that problems can be overcome if one works with unity, and assured that the most recent example is the recovery in Guantanamo after hurricane Oscar.

U.S. authorities returned a group of 34 irregular migrants through Jose Marti International Airport.

In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held to be impressed by the resilience of a population devoted to the recovery effort under way in cities and areas of eastern Cuba where Hurricane Oscar caused great damage.

“The vote at the United Nations in favor of the resolution to end the U.S. blockade makes us happy, as we see that Cuba enjoys international recognition”, said Magalys Menéndez Peñate, a popular educator who holds a Master’s Degree in Social and Community Studies.

“The only goal of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade is to cause more suffering to the Cuban people and to intensify the economic war to make the economy collapse”, said Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Cuba's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN).

The international community represented at the United Nations General Assembly backed Cuba against Washington’s over 60 year economic blockade with 187 votes in favor of the island’s draft bill demanding the dropping of the US hostile policy.

“The expansionist policies and unilateral coercive measures imposed by some governments, and the growing dependence on them in conjunction with interventionism, are a menace to multilateralism”, Iran's representative said today during the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the UN General Assembly’s rejection of the U.S. blockade and assured that the upcoming vote will give Cuba a resounding victory.

Social scientists from nine countries are participating at the 4th International Symposium Cuban Revolution: genesis and historical development, opened today at the Jose Marti Memorial, in Havana, where it will be held until Thursday.

With the resumption of the school year on Monday in the municipalities of Guantanamo that were not severely affected by Hurricane Oscar, that province is gradually returning to its daily life.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel headed a people’s pilgrimage on Monday to honor Cuban Revolutionary commander Camilo Cienfuegos, who died in a plane accident over the ocean shortly after the 1959 revolutionary triumph.

The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA) in the province of Mayabeque announced a two-day workshop on the Roselle flower—a herbaceous plant rich in vitamins A, C, B1, E and minerals such as iron, phosphate and calcium—expected to gather 100 Cuban and foreign researchers, producers and businesspeople.

Taking into account that the current weather conditions in the Cuban easternmost province of Guantanamo, after the passage of Tropical Storm Oscar, do not constitute a danger, it was decided to establish the recovery phase for the municipalities of Maisi, Baracoa, Imias and San Antonio del Sur.
