VILLA CLARA, Cuba, Apr 8 (ACN) The Abel Santamaría International Airport of the city of Santa Clara began the year’s operations with Lisbon, Portugal―scheduled until September―with a flight carrying 371 passengers from that country.
The route’s weekly flights, operated by Avoris/Iberojet, are bound to strengthen the links between Europe and the resorts of this province’s northern keys, one of Cuba’s major tourist destinations.
As of next month, according to local officials, these operations with Europe will receive a major boost with the resumption of flights from Madrid, Spain.
The Abel Santamaría, Cuba’s third most important airport, operates an average of ten airlines, including some from Spain, Canada, and the United States.
