Santo Domingo is one of the municipalities of Villa Clara most committed to the country's call for the necessary change in the energy matrix, based on the efficient investment in renewable sources that replace the burning of fossil fuels and thus contribute to the care of the environment.

With the participation of more than 400 delegates from all over the country and about a hundred guests, the program of activities included at the 12th Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym), whose sessions will last until April 4, will kick off today in Havana.

The First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party and Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, met Thursday in Havana with the president of Brazil’s Workers’ Party (PT) Gleisi Hoffman, who is paying an official visit to the island nation.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel urged the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) to develop a socialist kind of innovation that makes it possible for us to grapple with any obstacle, resist and keep moving forward in 2024.

“Culture and its creators are entrusted with the mission of raising the Cuban people’s spirits despite our current difficult socioeconomic conditions,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Culture (MINCULT), also attended by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz.

“Cuban historians have an indispensable source of inspiration in the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and the young members of the Centennial Generation,” said Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party and head of its Ideological Department at the 9th General Assembly of the Union of Cuban Historians (UNHIC).

A sculpture of the eminent German scientist Albert Einstein will be unveiled today at the School of Physics of the University of Havana during a ceremony in honor of the 145th anniversary of Einstein's birth in the German city of Ulm, on March 14, 1879.

“We are confident that your diplomatic work in our country will contribute to further develop the close and historic relations between Cuba and Vietnam,” Political Bureau member Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and of the Council of State, assured to Le Quang Long, ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on behalf of the Cuban parliamentarians.

With a view to discussing highly relevant topics on a global level, the Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI) in Havana organized the 15th Seminar on International Relations, which features 32 research works developed by its students and some 58 papers received from across Cuba and other countries.
