HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 10 (ACN) Cuba hails today the 24th anniversary of the social workers’ program, created by the historic leader of the Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.
Marta Elena Feito Cabrera, Minister of Labor and Social Security, thanked on X those who carry out that work in the country and congratulated them on this anniversary day.
“Today is a special day, Social Workers are celebrating another anniversary of the creation of the Program by our eternal Commander in Chief Fidel. To them and to all those who carry in their souls a social worker our congratulations and eternal gratitude,” she wrote.
On September 10, 2000, the first course of Social Workers was opened, whose members were called to work with people, groups and communities with complex social situations, to prevent problems and transform situations.
That day, at the Cojimar school, Fidel explained to the students that they would be trained in the sacred duty of demonstrating all that a just, caring and truly humane society can do.
