Havana, Sept 5 (ACN) The Cuba-Vietnam Seminar entitled “Socialist Media in Transformation,” held at the Havana-based Cuban Journalists’ Association (UPEC) addressed the media management models operating in the two nations.
UPEC president Ricardo Ronquillo and the vice-president of Vietnam’s Journalists’ Association (APV) Tran Trong Dung headed the session, also attended by a dozen Vietnamese journalists visiting Cuba, along local journalists and communication directives.
During the session, participants gave presentations on war media, AI, fake news and media economy.
Debates focused on the need to put forth the truth of events and fight deceitful content published by reactionary outlets; the defense of ethics in journalism; and the training of new generations of journalists.
The seminar is considered the first step towards new exchange of ideas and experiences during the media transformation period in both nations, said Tran Trong Dung.lc
