Over one million people in Cuba have received at least one dose of the vaccine candidates Soberana 02 and Abdala. This figure includes those who have been vaccinated as part of clinical trials, intervention studies in at-risk groups and health intervention in at-risk groups and territories that are currently being carried out.

As a result of the health interventions, clinical trials and intervention studies carried out so far with Cuban vaccine candidates against COVID-19, more than one million people have received an immunogen, informed today Dr. Francisco Duran, national director of epidemiology of the ministry of public health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym).

Cuba reported over 29 thousand new COVID-19 cases and 258 deaths up to May 25th over a daily infection average of more than 1 thousand and 10 deaths, which are the highest figures since the pandemic’s onset here in March 2020.

With the 11 deaths at the close of this Monday, Cuba accumulates 901 deaths caused by complications of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, since its outbreak in the country on March 11, 2020, the Ministry of Public Health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) reported today in Havana.
