HAVANA, Cuba, May 17 (ACN) Cuba studied 22,779 samples for COVID 19, resulting in 1057 positive ones. The country accumulates 4, 015,883 samples taken and 125,511 positive.
At the close of May 16, a total of 27,509 patients had been admitted, 3,968 suspected, 16,649 under surveillance and 6,892 confirmed.
Out of the total number of cases, 959 were contacts of confirmed cases; 67 with source of infection abroad and 31 with no source of infection determined. There were 1,089 discharges, accumulating 117,749 recovered patients (93.8%) and ten people died. A total of 126 patients are being treated in ICUs, including 40 in critical and 86 in serious condition.
Among the 1,057 positive cases, 47.2% (499) were asymptomatic, totaling 61,772(49.2%) of those confirmed to date.
