HAVANA, Cuba, August 5 (ACN) Cuban Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Young Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym) announced today the call for entries to the 1rst International Granma Rebelde Festival, to be held in Havana, October 17-20, 2025.
In addition to honoring the 60th anniversary of the founding of the newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, the event will serve as a platform for political, academic, and cultural exchange.
We invite communist, leftist, and progressive youth parties and organizations, as well as social movements, media outlets, and academic and cultural entities to join this People's Festival, according to the call from the PCC and the UJC.
The text, published by Juventud Rebelde, calls for unity "to confront media manipulation and imperialism's fourth-generation war tactics, aimed at inciting hatred, distorting the realities of our nations, and fueling the rise of fascism and neocolonialism."
The agenda of the 1rst International Granma Rebelde Festival includes panels, conferences, and cultural activities that will address contemporary challenges in peace, social justice, and sovereignty.
Its closing ceremony will coincide with Cuban Culture Day, October 20, and will pay tribute to the centennial of Fidel Castro Ruz's birth, to be celebrated in August 2026.
As a prelude, from October 15 to 17, Havana will host the 3rd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-Wing Parties and Movements, a consolidated space for debate on emerging political practices.
