HAVANA, Cuba, August 5 (ACN) Cuban men's baseball is in 12th place in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) rankings, according to the update posted Tuesday on the entity’s website.
Cuba boasts 2,461 points after the 153 it received by finishing seventh in the recent U12 World Cup, in which Japan (2nd place) earned 6,980 points to remain at the top of the world ranking as the only country with more than 6,000.
Three-time World Cup winner U.S.A. added 345 points to their record, good enough to consolidate their third place in the WBSC rankings, behind Chinese Taipei (226 points for being fourth in the said event and 5,127 in total).
As announced in the WBSC website, the next update will be posted after the U-18 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Japan on September 5-14.
