Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel called on the people to closely follow the suggestions by the World Health Organization (WHO) amidst the increase of cases of COVID-19 and other acute respiratory conditions around the world.

Concepción Campa Huergo, receiver of the degree of Doctor honoris causa from of the University of Havana, was granted the Pro Patria Award, established in 2022 by the Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP) for outstanding scientific groups who excelled in the fight against COVID-19.

The government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana asked Cuba to expand the number of health professionals in that country, particularly nurses due to a current shortage of health personnel.
