The Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) approved the country’s Economic Plan and State Budget for the year 2022 during the 8th Session of its 9th Legislature and in the presence of Army General Raul Castro and President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

The 2022 State Budget takes into account the gradual recovery of the Cuban economy in the basic levels of activity, in a complex scenario in which the tightened economic, financial and commercial blockade of the U.S. government and the effects of the world economic crisis produced by the COVID-19 persist.

Cuba plans to continue with a gradual economic and social recovery in 2022, with a growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices around 4%, Deputy PM and minister of economy and planning, Alejandro Gil Fernandez, informed today at the plenary session of the National Assembly of People's Power.

The IV Ibero-American Summit on Accessible Tourism concluded today with the signing of the Havana Declaration, where Cuba publicly and officially expresses its willingness to collaborate in all actions that can lead to a truly accessible and inclusive tourism.

Specialists from research centers, entities and national organizations debated on Thursday in Havana how much can be done to place Cuba in better positions worldwide in the Global Innovation Index (GII), despite the impact of the U.S. blockade and the fact that some indicators are typical of developed nations.

 With the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, Cuban deputy prime minister and minister of economy and planning, Alejandro Gil Fernandez, received on Wednesday Mr. Serguei Glasiev, minister of integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
