HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 1 (acn) Cuban Minister Rodrigo Malmierca presented the Foreign Investment Portfolio 2016-2017 during the opening ceremony of the First Investment Forum at the Expocuba fairgrounds.

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 1 (acn) Japan's interest in closer economic relations with Cuba was highlighted at the opening day of the 34th International Fair of Havana, FIHAV 2016, to be held in Expocuba fairgrounds until November 4 with the assistance of 73 countries.

The 34th Havana International Trade Fair opens today with the participation of over 4500 exhibitors from 75 countries, who will focus on investment opportunities in Cuban economy.

The Cuban oil industry has drawn up plans to find new reserves and recover the production levels or fields under exploitation since oil is a strategic Cuban economic sector and a priority for foreign investment.

Representatives of Mexico City and Havana signed on Tuesday in this capital a letter of intent for tourist promotion, with the purpose of establishing a multi-destination between the two cities, and therefore contribute to attract a larger number of international visitors.

The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, arrived in Cuba on Tuesday for an official visit, with which he hopes to strengthen economic and political relations between the two countries.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, informed today that Cuba will present on November 1st the third upgrade of its business portfolio, which includes a higher number of projects.

Representatives, diplomats and associations of several countries expressed themselves against the US blockade to Cuba while waiting for the UN General Assembly to reanalyze a resolution draft calling for an end to this policy, next October 26.

Ceballos Agroindustrial Company, in the province of Ciego de Avila, earned 653 380 Cuban convertible pesos (CUC) for pineapple exports to Europe from January to September this year.
