Mexico City and Havana Sign Letter of Intent for TourismHAVANA, Cuba, Oct 26 (acn) Representatives of Mexico City and Havana signed on Tuesday in this capital a letter of intent for tourist promotion, with the purpose of establishing a multi-destination between the two cities, and therefore contribute to attract a larger number of international visitors.

Xonia Beltran, delegate of the Tourism Ministry in the territory and her Mexican counterpart, Miguel Torruco, signed the legal document that will seek to create synergy in order to consolidate the development of the so-called leisure industry, for the benefit of the two economies.
Beltran told ACN that the signing of this document is a starting point to build alliances that allow travelers from countries as distant as Japan, China and Russia to visit capital cities of Cuba and Mexico, which have common elements in terms of history, heritage and culture.
According to Secretary of Tourism of Mexico City, Cuba is the first country in the Caribbean sending travelers to that capital.
During the meeting, it was also known that from Latin America Mexico is the country sending the largest amount of vacationers to Cuba, and that currently there are air routes from Monterrey to Varadero, Villa Clara and Havana.
