HAVANA, Cuba, August 4 (ACN) Workers from different sectors are making progress on the installation of the La Sabana photovoltaic solar park in the western province of Mayabeque, as part of efforts to strengthen the National Electric System.
The project, which will have an installed capacity of 21.8 megawatts (MW), is part of a series of four installations being carried out in the province, the provincial newspaper reported.
Among the tasks being carried out are the installation of tables and cable laying, with the support of a specialized team from the Isle of Youth and technical advice from national entities.
Ricardo Sacuta Matos, head of the Pinar del Rio team, thanked the local workers for their collaboration and emphasized the importance of the project, which will contribute to generating nearly 80 MW once the four planned installations are completed.
In addition to La Sabana Park, similar investments are being made in El Gabriel (Quivican) and El Capricho (Melena del Sur), as part of the national strategy to diversify the energy mix and promote the use of renewable sources.
