Cuba trains private house owners offering service to touristsSANCTI SPIRITUS, Cuba, Oct 17 (acn) In order to holistically develop tourism sector, providing good service, quality and comfort, almost a hundred self-employed are trained in different courses offered by the Hotel and Tourism School of this city.

According to Reiner Rendon Fernández, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in the province of Sancti Spiritus, training of non-state workers began to be strengthened two years ago and today they represent more than 40 percent of enrollment of the Trinidad Basic Training Center.
He said that each year it has been given response to the demand in this sector, which is growing at breakneck pace in this city, and has 1 421 boutique hotels -331 more than the same period last year- and at about 2 416 rooms.
Rendon Fernandez added that to promote opportunities for training and specialization, they have systematically visited boutique hotels and private restaurants of this region, one of the most popular tourist poles of Cuba, since the purpose is to raise the quality of non-state activity as complementary tourist offer .
Figures from the Ministry of Tourism on the territory show that more than 212 990 foreign tourists preferred to stay in non-state establishments, representing 56 percent of visitors staying in the province and confirms the impact that self-employment has had in the so-called leisure industry.
