GUANTANAMO, Cuba, Oct 17 (acn) Specialists from Guantanamo´s National Insurance Company (ESEN by its Spanish acronym) assess the losses and damage to protected property of the population affected by Hurricane Matthew, to give timely and effective response to tens of thousands of beneficiaries.
Antonio González, ESEN deputy director, told reporters that in accordance with Resolution 143 of 2015 of the Ministry of Finance and Prices, when facing exceptional and disaster situations, the entity is called to certify the damage and compensate policyholders and natural or legal affected persons.
Those not having contract with the company will also be provided with the appraised service, but without disbursement, said the manager of ESEN, leader in the country in life insurance due to the number of customers and generated revenue.
Cuba's easternmost province is one that most beneficiaries have in that mode –exceeding 57 000-, and according to Gonzalez, in the specific case of the four municipalities more affected by Matthew (Maisi, Baracoa, Imías and San Antonio del Sur), customers are around 18 000.
Gonzalez noted that the population is obliged to notify their losses in the term established at ESEN provincial headquarters, or in the Municipal Defense Council, as the liquidation process will only proceed after being notified.
ESEN, meanwhile, will corroborate its reputation as a guarantor of timely financial protection at such events, working with quality and effectiveness to have certification ready in the shortest time possible, and make the payment to affected client, fundamental commitment.
