Two bilateral agreements to strengthen economic and trade relations between Cuba and Turkey were signed today during the closing of the Business Committee between the two countries, which took place in this capital.

José Carlos Rodríguez Ruiz, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the International Organizations based in Rome, was received by Graciano Da Silva, Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), with whom he discussed various topics of interest.

Marcelino Medina Gonzalez, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, met with Michelle Bachelet, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, during the High-Level Segment of the XL ordinary session of the Human Rights Council, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, until Wednesday.

On the morning of Tuesday, February 26, a Mig 21 aircraft of the Revolutionary Air Force crashed to the ground, due to technical problems, in the vicinity of the municipality of Güira de Melena, province of Artemisa, during a combat preparation exercise. The event did not cause damage in that town; the pilot is in good health.

Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, highlighted in Twitter the victory of the Yes in the constitutional referendum that took place this Sunday in Cuba, as reported on Monday in Havana by the electoral authorities.

Over 6.8 million Cubans voted Yes last Sunday, thus ratifying the new Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, according to preliminary information offered Monday afternoon in Havana by Alina Balseiro, president of the National Electoral Commission.

The National Electoral Commission reported that until five o'clock in the Sunday afternoon over 7.5 million Cubans had gone to the polls, which represents 81.53 percent of the total registered voters in the updated lists.

In Venezuela, the independence and sovereignty of all is being defined today in addition to the validity of international law and that is why we support the process of that country, said Bruno Rodriguez, Cuba´s Minister of Foreign Affairs, when exercising his right to vote in the constitutional referendum.
