HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 26 (ACN) Cuba will showcase its experience in advanced life support in the face of disasters during the VIII International Congress on Emergencies and Intensive Care (URGRAV 2019) to be held in the capital from March 4 to 6.
Dr. Pedro Luis Véliz Martínez, president of the Cuban Society of Intensive and Emergency Medicine, explained to the press that doctors, teachers and intensive care nurses from some 15 countries will participate, including Spain, Romania, Puerto Rico, Hungary, United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Cuba.
With headquarters in Havana's Conventions Center, the topics will also deal with the mobile medical emergency and the quality of care, the process of comprehensive care for critical mothers, sepsis as a health problem and experiences in solidarity aid to other nations, announced Dr. Véliz Martínez, also president of the organizing committee.
They will also discuss new technologies at the service of the specialty, training of human resources and training, preparation and organization in the attention to mass emergencies and nutrition in the critical patient, among other topics.
Parallel to the magna, which will be attended by 250 Cuban professionals and a hundred foreigners, the VI International Congress of Nursing in Critical Medicine, the V Forum of the Latin American Association of Pre-hospital Medical Care and a Training and Research Workshop on Life Support, emphasized the director of the National Council of Societies.
