HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 26 (ACN) Miguel Díaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, called to defend peace in the Latin American and Caribbean region, in the context of the threat looming over Venezuela.
Let's raise our voices against an American intervention in Venezuela," said the Cuban president on Twitter.
In the text, the Head of State urged to defend the Proclamation of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) that declares Latin America and the Caribbean a Zone of Peace.
Díaz-Canel's exhortation comes as the self-proclaimed Grupo de Lima meets in Bogotá, Colombia, with self-proclaimed "president in charge of Venezuela" Juan Guaidó with Venezuela in the spotlight.
This conclave was announced by the Group as a meeting that is established in order to find a peaceful and democratic solution for Venezuela, however, in the meeting, the vice president of the United States, Mike Pence, announced new measures against the government of Nicolas Maduro and ratified the support of Donald Trump to Juan Guaidó.
