HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 28 (ACN) Having a proper planning we can help the municipalities to be autonomous, said the President of the Council of State and Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel at the annual meeting of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP).
The president stressed that this is precisely one of the challenges of the new Magna Carta, approved by the National Assembly and ratified by 86.85 percent of the votes cast by voters.
This initiative seeks that the territories are able to develop with their own forces and with the interrelations they make, said Diaz-Canel, while ensuring that government visits to the provinces have made it possible to understand that there are resources of the province and municipality that must be included in the State Economy Plan.
The more we develop the municipalities here we can focus more on the strategic lines, he said.
Diaz-Canel also said that from the ratification of the new Constitution will develop an intense legislative exercise in which the MEP must play an important role.
The president also discussed the importance of increasing exports to boost the country's development, and said that it is necessary that when entities request financing for an investment are able to return that fund from their own results.
He insisted on the importance of defending productive chains with foreign investment, tourism -the driving force of the economy- and the non-state sector.
He also commented that it is vital to strengthen the state enterprise, make a government management that is transparent and participatory, and use more scientific innovation in pursuit of development.
