HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (ACN) The Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, met on Tuesday evening with Mrs. Gonca Yilmaz Batur, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey.
Mrs. Yilmaz Batur is visiting Cuba to preside over the Fourth Cuba-Turkey Follow-Up Meeting, which is attended by a large delegation composed of senior representatives from the Ministries of Transport, Agriculture, Health, Tourism and Culture, as well as businessmen from the Biopharmaceutical, Health, Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Industry, Construction and Tourism sectors, with the aim of strengthening and expanding bilateral trade relations.
During the meeting, Vice President Cabrisas thanked the Turkish delegation for its Government's growing interest in strengthening political, economic and cooperation ties with Cuba, and agreed on the great potential that exists in that Eurasian country for the insertion of its businessmen in the projects that contribute to our Economic Development Plan until 2030.
For her part, the visiting Deputy Minister advocated continuing to work for the development of direct trade between the two countries, gradually eliminating intermediaries in Turkish exports to the Cuban market, as well as for the introduction of Cuban products in the Turkish market.
Within the framework of this visit, the Cuba-Turkey Business Committee will meet and an Action Plan will be signed between the Ministries of Tourism of both countries and the Minutes of the Fourth Cuba-Turkey Follow-up Meeting.
The Turkish Deputy Minister was accompanied by Ambassador Ayse Berris Ekinci and officials from the Ministries of Commerce, the Treasury and the Embassy.
On the Cuban side, Ileana Núñez Mordoche and Inalvis Bonachea González, Deputy Minister and Director of European Trade Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, respectively, participated.
