HAVANA, Cuba, April 21 (ACN) Residents of Galicia, Spain, joined the actions in support of Cuba with a demonstration in Santiago de Compostela organized by more than 30 political, labor, and social organizations, according to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Coinciding with the anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory, the event gathered around 3,500 people who expressed the Galician people's opposition to the U.S. blockade of Cuba.
With more than four decades of solidarity work to its credit, the Asociación de Amizade Galego-Cubana Francisco Villamil highlighted that since last year it has been promoting the shipment of social and medical supplies, one of which arrived in Cuba in March and another will in July.
On April 19 in Madrid, the Movimiento Estatal de Solidaridad con Cuba (MESC) organized a demonstration under the slogan "For the end of the U.S. blockade against Cuba," which assembled hundreds of people carrying signs and chanting slogans from the Atocha square to the Plaza de la Provincia in support of Cuba and demanding the end of the hostile U.S. Cuba policy.
