
HAVANA, Cuba, April 22 (ACN) A delegation from the Havana Botanical Garden "Quinta de los Molinos" is attending the Central American and Caribbean Botanical Gardens Congress, "Botanical Bridges 2026," held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Hosted by the "Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso" National Botanical Garden, the event features an intensive scientific agenda focused on biodiversity conservation and the exchange of knowledge, according to the information posted on the entity’s Facebook page.
Lina Ramírez, Coordinator of the Network of Botanical Gardens of the Caribbean and Central America, emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in addressing environmental challenges at the opening ceremony, whereas Congress chair Pedro Suárez, director of the Botanical Garden, reaffirmed the commitment to research, conservation, and environmental education.
“Botanical Bridges” gathers authorities, diplomats, and academics―including the First Lady Raquel Arbaje and the Minister of the Environment Paíno Henríquez―is deemed a key forum for scientific dialogue and the creation of alliances in support of biodiversity and sustainable development.
