HAVANA, Cuba, February 2 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and Minister of Foreign Affairs, began his official visit to Vietnam today as a special envoy of the Cuban government.
Cuban Foreign Minister announced this in a message on X, where he highlighted the official talks he held with his counterpart, Le Hoai Trung, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Rodriguez Parrilla stated that during the meeting, both sides discussed the international situation and its impact on Latin America and the Caribbean.
The head of Cuban diplomacy thanked his Vietnamese counterpart for the involvement of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry in achieving the consensus reached between the leaders of the two nations.
In 1960, Cuba became the first Latin American state to recognize the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, providing assistance in the form of food, medicine, medical personnel, military support, and infrastructure construction.
For 65 years, diplomatic relations between Cuba and Vietnam have been characterized by fraternal friendship, solidarity, and cooperation ties.
Among the most recent examples of this close relationship is the national fundraising campaign launched in Vietnam by the Red Cross, which raised over $15.2 million to support Cuba amid its economic challenges.
