
Havana, Nov 11 (ACN) The President of Cuba’s National Assembly of People's (Parliament) Esteban Lazo attended Monday the ceremony for 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence of Angola in the capital Luanda.
The Cuban Parliament shared images on X of the ceremony, which was attended by high-level representatives from some 20 countries.
As part of his current official visit to Angola, Lazo was received by Angolan President Joao Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, to whom he handed over letters of congratulations from Cuban Revolution Leader Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The Cuban Parliament President met with Cuban workers in the African nation, whom he described as heirs of internationalism. He also met with members of solidarity organizations with Cuba and Cubans residing in Angola.
The Cuban delegation led by Lazo in Angola includes deputy defense minister, army Corps General Joaquín Quintas Solá and Division General Ramón Pardo Guerra; Luis Alberto Amorós, director for Sub-Saharan Africa at the Cuban Foreign Ministry and Alberto Núñez, president of the Cuban Parliament's International Relations Commission. lc
