Cuban PM visits Cuban hospital in Qatar

HAVANA, Cuba, November 7 (ACN) – Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Prime Minister, toured the Cuban Hospital in Dukhan, Qatar, today. Founded in 2012, the hospital embodies the legacy of cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister was received by Hussain Al-Ishaq, CEO of the Hamad Medical Corporation, and Tania Fernandez, the hospital's medical director, who acknowledged the work of the Cuban professionals at the institution, the Cuban government reported on its official Facebook page.

In a subsequent exchange with representatives of the more than 1,200 Cuban collaborators working in Qatar, Cuban premier provided an update on the national situation, including the preliminary damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in the eastern part of the country.

Marrero Cruz also discussed the implementation of the Government Program, which will be strengthened through a public consultation, and explained the measures adopted to address economic challenges and mitigate the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

He highlighted the excellent state of medical cooperation with Qatar, which he described as the "most vibrant" fruit and "the best tribute to the legacy of friendship" between the Emir and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

At the end of the visit, Marrero Cruz wrote in the hospital's guestbook: "I am proud of what you do. You are an example for Cuba and the world. History will place your great contribution to the nation on a very high pedestal."
