HAVANA, Cuba, October 19 (ACN) The willingness to keep developing relations of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and left-wing parties and movements around the world was reaffirmed at a meeting of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and members of political organizations in which Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC signed an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement with Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Türkiye (TKP).
During the talks with the TKP delegation, Mr. Morales highlighted the friendship that unites the two peoples and expressed his gratitude for the support that the José Martí Cuba Solidarity Group and the TKP itself have in the fight against the U.S. blockade.
On his end, Mr. Okuyan described the bond established between the two political entities as profound and sincere.
Furthermore, Mr. Morales and Olga Nikolaevna Chemodanova, president of the Belaya Rus Party of Belarus, signed on Saturday the Roadmap for the implementation of the Exchange and Cooperation Agreement signed during the visit of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel to Belarus in June.
The Cuban official also met with the delegation from the German Communist Party (DKB), led by its president Patrik Kobele, whom he thanked for their support to the island in many respects and whose presence in Cuba he described as an opportunity to evaluate the implementation of various memoranda they have already signed.
Mr. Kobele reasserted DKB’s intention to keep cooperating with Cuba and praised the importance of the rally in solidarity with Venezuela held in Havana to promote anti-imperialism worldwide.
These and other delegations traveled to Havana to attend the 3rd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-Wing Parties and Movements and the 1st International Festival Granma-Rebelde.
Emilio Lozada García, head of the PCC's International Relations Department, said that the presence of some 35 foreign political parties in both events is highly significant, for it will contribute to fostering the unity of all leftist forces at a complex time marked by the Trump administration's threats to Latin America and its influence on global conflicts.
