Cuba and Vietnam value positive results of economic ties



HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 2 (ACN) Cuba and Vietnam positively assessed the results achieved in the current phase of their economic ties, Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel commented on X.

This was emphasized today by Cuban head of state about his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Palace, during his official visit to the Indochinese nation.The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) also commented that the exchange reiterated the commitment to continue promoting investment and exchanges with Vietnamese businessmen.

The meeting took place after the main ceremony and military parade for the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's independence.

In this regard, Cuban president conveyed to Pham Minh Chinh "congratulations on the magnificent event" he witnessed.

According to the Cuban Presidency, the Vietnamese head of government sent greetings to his counterpart, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and other Cuban authorities, and expressed his congratulations on the development and strengthening of bilateral collaboration in a wide variety of fields, from agriculture to biotechnology, industry, and energy.
For his part, Cuban head of state conveyed to comrade Pham Minh Chinh greetings from Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and recalled the Vietnamese prime minister's meetings with the Cuban head of government.

Diaz-Canel mentioned the strengthening of bilateral cooperation over the past year, following the visit to Cuba by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam.

Subsequently, the Cuban delegation in Vietnam held an exchange with local business leaders from sectors such as construction, commerce, tourism, biotechnology, and the food industry, which was also attended by Pham Minh Chinh.

Cuban President emphasized the island's willingness to evaluate all proposals, particularly in the areas of consumer goods.

During the exchange, Cuban minister of foreign trade and investment, Oscar Perez-Oliva, called for increased participation of Vietnamese business leaders in Cuba's economic development, noting that opportunities have been presented to this end and full attention is being paid to this objective.

The high-level Cuban delegation arrived in Vietnam last Sunday for an intense work agenda, which culminates this Tuesday, when it will continue its official tour of Asian countries (China and Laos).
