HAVANA, Cuba, August 12 (ACN) Members of the Évora Chapter of the Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association (AAPC) reaffirmed their support for the international campaign "For Cuba! End the Blockade!" in favor of the island's sovereignty.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website Cubaminrex, the Cuban Consul Yusimí Pompa Santos and members of her staff attended a meeting held in the city of Évora condemning the U.S. Cuba policy and especially the blockade of the island, which directly affects the Cuban people.
The diplomat expressed her gratitude for the expressions of support and took the opportunity to extend an invitation, on behalf of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Young Communist League (UJC), to the International Festival “Granma-Rebelde”, to be held in Havana on October 17 to 20 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde, founded by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz as official publications of the PCC and the UJC, respectively.
The AAPC plays an active role in terms of solidarity with Cuba and promotes respect for its self-determination and the strengthening of cultural ties between the two peoples.
