Bolivian President appreciates Cuba's greetings for bicentennial of Declaration of Independence



HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 8 (ACN) Luis Arce, President of Bolivia, thanked his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, for the greetings sent this week on the occasion of the bicentennial of the South American country's independence.

Bolivian president highlighted on X the message posted on the same social media by Diaz-Canel, who sent a warm and strong hug to the Government and people of Bolivia on Wednesday and offered Cuba's support to the Plurinational State in the defense of its sovereignty.

Arce emphasized in his post that the brave Cuban people share with Bolivia a common history of struggle for dignity, sovereignty, and self-determination in the face of neoliberal, imperialist, and capitalist interests.

Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez, Cuban Minister of Justice, represented Cuba at the Solemn Session of the Bolivian Congress for the Bicentennial, which took place on August 6.

Silvera Martinez considered it an honor to have participated in the commemoration and to hear President Arce and Vice President David Choquehuanca deliver their speeches on the historical significance of the nation's Bicentennial.

The bicentennial commemorations took place in Sucre, the constitutional capital of the Plurinational State, with the participation of delegations from some 40 countries and international organizations,and the main ceremony took place on Wednesday, with official events culminating yesterday with a military parade.
