Cuban Residents in Argentina Condemn US Hostile Cuba Policy

Havana, July 29 (ACN) The Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA) issued a declaration strongly condemning the new set of economic sanctions imposed by Washington on their country and described it as an unprecedented escalation of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island nation.

An article on the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website reads that the declaration blasts the US Presidential Memorandum signed June 30th by President Donald Trump tightening existing restrictions on US tourism to Cuba, imposing financial pressure on those allowed to travel to Cuba under different trip categories, and prohibiting trade operations with Cuban entities like the GAESA Corporation.

The document cites a denunciation made by the Cuban Parliament against the economic, commercial and financial war unleashed against Cuba, which violates International Law and disregards reiterated UN resolutions. The US policy has been dubbed by the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez as a criminal behavior, which violates the human rights of a whole nation.

The declaration stresses the support given to the island by the countries with the regional alliance ALBA-TCP, and demands the immediate lifting of all coercive measures and the removal of Cuba from the US list of States Sponsors of Terrorism.
The URCA move stressed the dignity and sovereignty of the Cuban people.
