HAVANA, Cuba, July 23 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his sorrow over the death of Irina Podnosova, president of the Russian Supreme Court, and offered his condolences to her family and the Russian government.
Podnosova, who died at the age of 71 in Moscow, assumed the presidency of the court in 2024 following the death of her predecessor, Vyacheslav Lebedev. Previously, she served as vice president of the Supreme Court for almost four years.
Díaz-Canel stressed the fact that Ms. Podnosova played a role in the strengthening of ties between the judicial systems of both countries.
