HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 17 (ACN) Israel is attacking Iran, more than 2,000 kilometers away, under the false pretext of self-defense, Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla denounced today.
On X, Rodriguez Parrilla condemned the recent attacks on Iranian civilians and the press by the Zionist regime, in violation of the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
The Cuban diplomat questioned the double standards of Israel's accomplices and allies, who remain silent and support this latest crime by the Israeli army.
On Monday, Israel bombed the headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Radio and Television during a live broadcast, injuring several employees of the network, Iranian authorities reported.
The unpunished murder of nearly 200 journalists in Gaza has emboldened Israel to attack media outlets elsewhere in the region, said Sara Qudah, Middle East representative of the Committee to Protect Journalists, in a statement.
The escalating conflict between Iran and Israel has now lasted five days, with a preliminary toll of at least 224 dead and more than 800 wounded in Iran, and 24 fatalities in Israel.
